The Department of Human-Computer Interaction at Hanyang University was established in March 2018 with the goal of cultivating competitive professionals in the HCI field for the era of globalization.
It aims to nurture leaders who can guide the Fourth Industrial Revolution era from a convergent perspective, rather than through the dichotomous thinking of traditional engineering versus humanities, or design versus arts and physical education.

To this end, we operate master's, doctoral, and combined master's-doctoral programs, establishing specialized tracks in Intelligent (SW Knowledge-Based) HCI, Entertainment (Emotion-Based Design) HCI, and Design (Visual Cognition-Based) HCI.
We offer common courses that are essential for industrial and societal needs, as well as those required for developing fundamental competencies, regardless of major. We also aim to conduct specialized projects with outstanding domestic and international convergence researchers in each specific field.

The educational content pursued by this graduate school aims to be practical and useful for professional practice rather than abstract and overly theoretical. Lectures are conducted by connecting theory and application based on the experience of world-renowned convergence researchers, incorporating practical training when necessary.
